Amazing?

Bene...
Sono "appena" uscita da The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Non perché ci tenessi particolarmente ma perché era l'unico film vagamente interessante che mi era rimasto da vedere nel multisala in Irlanda durante la pausa pranzo.
Penso sappiate già come in realtà non mi garbi molto l'universo Ultimate, motivo per cui sono così fedele alla prima trilogia di Tobey Maguire con tutti i suoi difetti. Per me solo lui rappresenta davvero Spidey.
Dunque. Il primo Amazing Spiderman è stato -per me- così noioso (ok, l'ho guardato in inglese -ero ad Anversa- e forse non ho capito proprio tutto ma... ogni cinque minuti pensavo “Oh...l'ha già fatto Tobey...” e così via) che ho completamente saltato la battaglia finale. 
Ora. Non desideravo davvero andare al cinema. Ma ci sono andata. E, ovviamente, sono stata costretta a restare fino alla fine.
Non voglio parlare del copione (credo immaginiate il perché). Io sono focalizzata sull'aspetto dei personaggi.
Come la prima volta, in realtà ho molto gradito la resa di Gwen, che rispecchia abbondantemente il look dell'originale (anche la scena finale -ma le mie labbra sono cucite- è perfetta!).
Ma...ragazzi... tutti gli altri dettagli...

I've "just" watched The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Not because I was particularly interested in but because there was no other interesting film to see in the theatre here in Ireland during the lunch time.
I think that you already know how I really dislike the Ultimate Universe of the Marvel Comics and for this reason I'm so loyal to the first Tobey Maguire's trilogy with all its lacks. For me he really represents Spidey.
So. The first Amazing Spiderman was -for me- so boring (ok, I watched it in English -I was in Antwerpen- and maybe I didn't understood everything but... Any five minute I was thinking “Oh... Already seen in the other movies...Tobey rules” and similar) that I completely skip the final battle.
Now. I really didn't like to go to the cinema. But I went. And, of course, I was forced to watched it till the end.
I wont talk about the script (you can understand why). I'm focused on the appearance of the character.
Like the first time I'm really glad that aspect of Gween matched so much with the original one (Also the final scene -my lips are sealed- is perfect).
But... folks! All the other details...

Partiamo da Peter.
Nel primo film aveva dei capelli improponibili e, per altro, non sembrava affatto lo sfigato che doveva essere. Ma il costume era.... WOW! diverso da quello di Tobey Maguire ma davvero figo. Ma è abbastanza ovvio. Stiamo parlando di Kim Barret, la costumista di Matrix, Cloud Atlas e Romeo+Giulietta.
La prima trilogia è stata curata da James Acheson (L'uomo d'acciaio, Frankenstein di Mary Shelley, La maschera di ferro, Il piccolo Buddha, L'ultimo imperatore, Brazil, Highlander, Daredevil -so che scontenterò parecchie persone, ma io ho trovato davvero realistico Devil con quel costume-)
Ho visto di persona il costume di Tobey all'esposizione del V&A l'anno scorso. Spidey non è uno dei miei personaggi preferiti ma quel giorno mi innamorai dell'uomo dietro la maschera (in quel caso un manichino inanimato attaccato al muro a testa in giù come il vero Spidey all'altezza di tre metri. Potevo vederlo ma non toccarlo). E ho notato come il costume fosse in jersey di lana.
Lana. Lo stesso, versatile materiale -sto per distruggere una delle vostre certezze, tenetevi forte!!- del mantello e dei pantaloni di Neo in Matrix.
Quello che voglio dire è che... il nuovo costume di Amazing Spider-man 2 è identico a quello classico dei fumetti. Ed è qualcosa di buono. Davvero buono. Ma... ma è (è una mia supposizione) in spandex. O in un tipo di jersey non adatto a quest'uso, non abbastanza rigido (sembra una contraddizione, lo so). 
Let's start from Peter. In the first movie his hair was a mess and he didn't look like as the looser he was. But the suit was... really AMAZING! Different from the Tobey Maguire but really cool. But it's quite obvious. We are talking about Kim Barret, the Costume Designer of The Matrix, Cloud Atlas and Romeo+Juliet.
The first trilogy was looked after by James Acheson (Man of Steel, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, The man in the Iron Mask, Little Buddha, The last emperor, Brazil, Highlander, Daredevil -I know that a lot of people disagree, but I found Devil realistic with that suit-).
I personally saw Tobey's costume in the exposition at the V&A last year. Spidey is not one of my favourite character but I fell in love with the man behind the mask (in that case an inanimate mannequin attached upside-down at the wall like the real Spidey to three meters in height. I could see it but I couldn't touch it). And I noticed how it (the suit) was in jersey wool.
Wool: the same, versatile fabric -I'm going to destroy one of your certainty!!- of the coat and the trousers (if I well remember it was mixed with another spun) of Neo from The Matrix.
What I want to say is that... the new suit of The Amazing Spider-man 2 is identical to the classical comic's one. And that is something good. Extremely good. But... but is (now I'm supposing it) in spandex. Or in a kind of jersey not good for this use, not enough rigid (it seems a contradiction, I know).

Perché? Perché, guardando il film mi sembrava di guardare un cosplayer. Un buon cosplayer. Ma potevo vedere la biancheria e quindi il tutto mi sembrava un filmato amatoriale! I boxer e la maglietta (fate attenzione alle spalle)
Non dico che Peter dovrebbe vestire esattaente come nei fumetti (prima di Secret Invasion, lui e i Nuovi Vendicatori vengono catturati da Sauron nella Terra Selvaggia e denudati. In quell'occasione lui afferma candidamente di non indossare mai la biancheria perché scomoda....bleah! E in America non hanno il bidet!)  ma è davvero antiestetico anche se realistico. 
Why? Because, watching the movie it seems to me to look at a cosplayer. A good cosplayer. But I could see the underwear and then it looked to me like an home video! The boxer shorts and the t-shirt undershirt (pay attention to the shoulders).
I don't say to dress Peter exactly as in the comics (before the Secret Invasion he and the New Avengers were trapped by Sauron in the Savage Land and totally undressed. In that occasion he said that he never wear underwear because it's uncomfortable... bleah! And in America they don't have the bidet!) but is really unsightly even if realistic! 

Devo dire che ho apprezzato il nuovo taglio di capelli di Peter (spettinti ma credibili. Anche se l'attore continua a non piacermi) ma quelli di Henry proprio no. Sembra un emo (più o meno come Peter nel terzo capitolo della prima trilogia) e si suppone sia un ricco fighetto... In questo, sono convinta, la costumista Deborah Lynn Scott (Ritorno al Futuro, Minority Report, The Island, Avatar, Transformers, Titanic, Wild Wild West) abbia attinto da Ritorno al Futuro (guardate George Mc Fly). Esattamente l'opposto di quello che dovrebbe essere: nella mia testa quei capelli contraddistinguono ancora gli sfigati. Toglietegli quella frangia!
E, a proposito di capelli: perché Felicia è mora? E' bionda! E diventa platinata quando è la Gatta Nera. Oh. Certo, facile, ho capito. In questo modo ne hanno per tutti i gusti, come con le Bond girls: una bionda, una bruna e una rossa... 
I have to say that I've appreciate the new Peter hair (uncombed but credible. Even if I still don't like the actor) but not the Henry's one. He looks like an emo (more or less as Peter in the third chapter of the first trilogy) and is supposed to be a rich hipster... In this, I'm pretty sure, the costumist Deborah Lynn Scott (Back to the Future, Minority Report, The Island, Avatar, Transformers, Titanic, Wild Wild West) drew from Back to the Future (look at George McFly). Exactly the opposite of what he has to be: in my mind that hair still mark the loosers. Let's draw away that fringe. 
And, about the hair: why Felicia has black hair? She's blonde and she become platinum blonde when she's the Black Cat. Oh! Easy! I've understood. In this way they cover every taste, like the Bond girls: a blond, a brunette and a redhead...

Henry-Goblin sembra poi la brutta copia di Sting nei panni di Feyd-Rautha, il crudele principe Harkonnen di Dune (quello di David Lynch, però!), mescolato a Billy Idol e a Toad (dagli X-Men). Chissene frega se l'armatura è così.... fantastica!

Electro sembra la combinazione di Mr. Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger), Avatar (appunto) e l'imperatore Palpatine/Darth Sidious di Guerre Stellari Episodio VI: Il ritorno dello Jedi.
Oh, dimenticavo: ha anche un dispositivo attaccato alla testa che mi ricorda Lobot, il cyborg di Cloud City (Guerre Stellari Episodio V: L'impero colpsce ancora).
But is not the only detail that is drawn by the '80s.
Electro seems to be the combination of Arnold Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze, Avatar and the Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious from Star Wars Epidose VI: Return of the Jedi. 
Oh, I forgot: he also has a device attached to his head that remind me Lobot, the cyborg from Cloud City (Star Wars Episod V: The Empire strikes back)

Ma è tutto ok... quando nel film Normie sembra uno Skrull e "muore" di malattia (e non ucciso dalla sua stessa tvola...ma ok... universo Ultimate...), Peter ha alcuni poteri extra come la super forza e Rhino indossa un ridicolo carrarmato al posto di un'armatura. 
But everything is ok... when in the movie Normie looks like a Skrull and “dies” for a disease (and not killed by his own board...but ok, we are in the Ultimate Universe), Peter has some extra power like the super strength and Rhino wears ridiculous tank instead of an armour.  

 Alla fine del film avevo solo speso (e non buttato) un paio d'ore.
Quello che mi ha davvero infastidito è stata la scena extra nei titoli di coda: dato che nel film vengono mostrate le appendici di altri supercattivi (a fianco all'armatura e alla tavola di Goblin e l'esoscheletro di Rhino si possono vedere i tentacoli del dottor Octopus e le ali dell'Avvoltoio) ti aspetti una qualche chicca... 
At the end of the movie I've just spent (not waste) a couple of hours.
But what I really disliked is the post-credits scene: due to the fact that in the movie were shown the appendix of other supervillains (aside the Goblin's armour and board and the Rhino's exoskeleton we can see the Doc Ock's tentacles and the Vulture's wings) you wait for a tidbit. 

Ma puoi solo assistere allibito a un scena tratta da X-Men: giorni di un passato futuro.
A me piacciono davvero tanto gli X-men ed ero felice ma... l'unica cosa che posso pensare è "PERCHE'?". Qual è la connessione tra i due film?
Già non son felice per l'orribile outfit di Pietro (Ma che cazz... siamo negli anni 80? Inoltre, Pietro sembra solo apatico, non arrogante e insofferente) né della presenza di Blink (non potevano trovare un personaggio più minore...) e anche Warpath è... non lo so. Sembra fatto bene ma è senza senso. Più o meno come lasciare Sunspot senza Cannonball.
Penso che con il ritorno di Bryan Singer alla regia sarà un buon film, come X-Men e X-Men 2 che non erano malaccio (X-Men conflitto finale, quella porcheria, non è uno dei suoi... ma l'ha prodotto, anche se non è manco stato accreditato; X-Men: le Origini Wolverine e X-Men: l'inizio). In ogni caso sono felice che Rogue, il mio personaggio preferito, sia stato tagliata perché quella interpretata da Anna Paquine è tutto ma non Rogue, quindi è quasi meglio la sua totale assenza.

I really like the X-men and I was glad but... the only thing that you can think is “WHY?” What's the connection between the two movies?
Jet I'm not happy for the horrible Pietro's outfit (WTF? Are we in the Eighties? In addition, Pietro looks only apathetic and not arrogant and annoyed) nor for the presence of Blink (they couldn't find another smaller character...) and also Warpath is.. I don't know. He appears great but senseless... more or less as Sunspot without Cannonball.
I think that with the return of Bryan Singer at the direction it will be a good movie, like X-Men and X-Men 2 that where quite good (X-Men Last Stand, that horrible thing is not one of his...but he produced, even if uncredited; X-Men: Origin Wolverine and X-Men: First Class). In any case I'm glad that Rogue, my favourite character was cut because the one played by Anna Paquine is everything but Rogue... so almost I prefer her absence.

Capisco che non sia totalmente colpa di attori o costumisti ma della regia e della produzione.
In ogni lavoro creativo hai un insegnante/regista/direttore che ti dice cosa fare. Perché tu sei l'ultima ruot del carro e devi realizzare l'idea che il capo ha in testa, non tu. Ma non è giusto. Specialmente per i fan. E anche se sei un fan comunque scontenterai qualcuno anche se avrai fatto del tuo meglio e con le migliori intenzioni.
E, ovviamente, la Marvel maneggerebbe in modo migliore tutta la cosa perché si tratta della sua stessa immagine e dei suoi prodotti e ha tutti gli interessi nel fare qualcosa di buono (guardate ai Vendicatori e Iron Man e Cap e ...avanti così!) 
I understand that is not totally fault of the actors or costumists but the direction and the procuction.
In any creative environment you have a teacher/register/director that tell you what to do. Because you are the fifth wheel and you have to serve the idea of you boss. But that is not fair. Especially for the fan. And even if you are a fan you would always displease somebody but, at any rate, you will have worked with the better purpose. And, of course, Marvel would handle in a better way all the problem because it is its own image and products and it has all the interest to do something really good (look at the Avengers and Iron Man and Cap and... so on)  


Ma, in ogni caso, tutta la questione dei diritti oggigiorno non può più andare avanti così. Capisco che per la Fox i film Marvel siano una gallina dalle uova d'oro ma, come fan, questo è irritante: perché non cooperare l'una con l'altra? Noi non possiamo avere i dovuti crossover, abbiamo continui reboots (solo perché altrimenti i diritti tornerebbero alla Marvel) e, soprattutto, non abbiamo le corrette trasposizioni. Stanno creando qualcosa di completamente sbagliato. E non voglio parlare della Torcia Umana Nera. Perché il mio shock non è per lui ma per l'intero cast. Ok, Chris Evans ora è Capitan America (e non per molto, comunque. Ad ogni modo questa è una buona ragione per avere indietro i diritti: organizzato, puoi prevenire certi casini), ma Ioan Gruffudd è ancora un uomo piacente e Michael Chiklis era perfetto per Ben Grimm mentre Jamie Bell è tutto fuorché tarchiato e massiccio. Jessica Alba era troppo carina per la parte di Sue Storm? Per qualcuno sarà troppo sexy ma devo ricordare che precedentemente era Max Guevara (Dark Angel). 
But, in any case, all the question about the rights is something that, nowadays, can't continue in this way. I understand that for the Fox Marvel movies are golden geese but, as fan, this is irritant: why do not cooperate one with the other? We cannot have the right crossover, we have continuous reboots (just because otherwise the right come back to the Marvel) and, especially, we have not the right transposition. They are creating something sometime totally wrong. And I don't want to talk about the black human torch. Because my shock is not for him but for the entire cast. Ok, Chris Evans now is Captain America (in any case not for too long. Anyway, this is one of the reason to have back all the right: organized, you can prevent this kind of mess), but Ioan Gruffudd is still an handsome man and Michael Chiklis was perfect for Ben Grimm while Jamie Bell is everything but stout. Jessica Alba was too pretty to play Sue Storm? For somebody she was too sexy but I've to remember them that she previously played Max Guevara (Dark Angel).

Vogliamo parlare di Wolverine: l'immortale? Senza la storia d'amore con Mariko (che non muore!) e con Keniuchio Harada che non veste i panni di Silver Samurai ma con la bionda viscidona Viper (HYDRA?) mutante.... WTF?
E cosa dire di Ghost Rider???
E dell'intenzione di James Mangold di girare Wolverine 3, dopo X-Men: l'era di Apocalisse, con o SENZA Hugh Jackman????
Avanti! O lo uccidi e ricominci da capo tutti i film o... non puoi fre questo ai fan!
Ma i soldi sono l'unica cosa che conta... chissene frega dei fan!
E ora abbiamo 2 Quicksilver (perché non è propriamente un X-men ma è figlio di uno dei loro nemici ed è un Vendicatore, sposato con un'Inumana che è stata fidanzata di Johnny Storm... che casino!)
Ok, basta così, altrimenti rovino tutto il buono che avevo trovato in questi film... 
Do we want to talk about Wolverine: the immortal? Without a love story with Mariko (who doesn't die!) and with Keniuchio Harada that doesn't play the Silver Samurai but with the blond slimy mutant Viper (HYDRA?) WTF?

And what about the intention of the director James Mangold to shoot Wolverine 3, after X-Men: the Age of Apocalypse, with or without Hugh Jackman????
Com'on! Or you kill him and you reboot all the movie, or you cannot do this to the fans!
Money is the only think that count. Who cares about the fan!
And now we have two Quicksilver (because he's not properly an X-Men but he's son of their enemy and he's an Avengers...married with an Inhuman...who was the Johnny Storm's girlfriend... What a mess!).
Ok, stop talking, otherwise I trash all the good that I was able to find in all this movies...
